Name: Rockaway Southern Railroad
Scale: HO
Size: 9' x 23'
Theme: North-South Bridge Line between Central Railroad of New Jersey and the Erie-Lackawanna.
Locale: South Plainfield to Dover,NJ with a branch to the NYS&W at Sparta, NJ.
Era: 1960s - 1970s
Benchwork: Open Frame with L Girder.
Roadbed: 1/4" Homabed (mainlines) and Homasote (yards) on 1/2" plywood.
Track: Hand laid code 70, Railcraft rail on Campbell ties.
Minimum Radius: 22"
Turnouts: No. 4 industrial, No. 6 yards and No. 8 mainlines; 78 turnouts controlled by Tortoise Slo-Motion machines, 5 in the staging yard by hand throws.
Scenery: Hardshell plaster on screen wire, masonite backdrops. Rocks cast from molds. Ground foams and natural mixture of foliage products.
Control: Convention block with 6 walk-around memory throttles (MRC Control Master 20, KurtzKraft custom built).
